Branding and brand identity for websites, apps, and ads
We design how your business looks and sounds, from its logo to its voice, and write guidelines your site, app, and ads can follow.
What our branding covers
Branding is deciding how your business looks and sounds, and writing it down so everything you put out matches. It covers a short strategy, the identity itself, and its first uses on your screens.
Brand strategy and voice
First we agree on a brand brief: who your customers are and how you want to sound to them. Voice notes turn that into words to use and avoid, with example lines.
Your brand on your site, app, store listing, and ads
We test the logo at app-icon size and the type on a phone, and we check the colors against WCAG AA contrast rules. Then the brand can go straight into Website design, iOS & Android apps, ASO, Motion design, and Advertising.
Who it's for
We design brands for founders who need a first identity before a launch, and for businesses whose site, app, and ads look like they come from different companies. Established businesses can bring us a refresh.
What you get
- A brand brief
- A logo that works from app-icon size up [TBD: file formats]
- A color palette checked for contrast on screens
- Type for headings and body text [TBD: font licensing]
- Voice notes with example lines
- Brand guidelines in one document
- First uses on your real surfaces [TBD: which are included and which are separate work]
- [TBD: whether naming is included, and the rights you get at the end]
How we work
- You tell us about the business, who it's for, and where the brand will show up.
- We write the brand brief and agree on it with you.
- We show two or three directions, and you pick one.
- We refine it, test it on your real surfaces, and write the guidelines.
- We put the brand to use where you choose.
Questions about branding
Have you designed brands before?
Not as a studio. We're new, and there's no client brand to show yet. [TBD: founder's earlier brand work, only if Artun wants it shown.]
Can you design just a logo?
Yes. We still write a short brief first, because a logo has to fit the people it's for. Then we test it at app-icon size and on your own screens.
Can you refresh a brand we already have?
Yes. We keep what your customers already recognize and fix what doesn't work on screens, such as a logo that blurs at icon size or colors that fail contrast checks.
Do you check whether a name or logo is already taken?
No. Whether you can register a name or logo is a question for a trademark lawyer. If we notice a clash on the web or in the app stores, we tell you. Have a lawyer check before you register or use it.
