Sample: Crumbwick bakery site rebuild
This is a sample, not client work. Crumbwick is a made-up bakery, and we wrote the brief ourselves.
The brief
The bakery's site is slow on phones, its opening hours sit in a PDF, and AI assistants give customers the wrong hours.
What we'd make
A five-page site with the hours, the address, and the ordering steps as text on the pages people land on, plus structured data and redirects from the old page addresses.
Why we'd do it this way
- The hours would move from the PDF onto the pages, so the bakery has one copy to keep current.
- We'd build with Astro, which adds JavaScript only where a page needs it, because the current site is slow on phones.
- The structured data would repeat the hours shown on the page, so search engines and assistants find the same hours visitors see.
What we'd measure
Page speed on a mid-range phone, the searches that bring visitors, and whether assistants give the right hours.
